8th Grade – Haslett & Tournament
A combined A/B 8th grade girls’ basketball team went 2-2 and took second place in the OSL tournament last weekend. After beating BCCS 28-7 with a balanced scoring attack and solid defense, the Glads lost a tough game to the host squad 22-19. Fowlerville then took on OSL Grand Rapids and showed character and determination in a 26-24 win, putting them in the championship game. Fowlerville again took on OSL Lansing and the host school proved to be too much in a 31-15 loss. Congrats to Azhanae Depa, Madison Fredrick, Peyton Boden, Sierra Slayden, Jayce Clark, Trinity Rosser, Lillian Smith, Sophia Spencer, Lizzy Banko, Margaret Allen, and Sydney Huggins on a job well done!
Next, the girls split with Haslett. The B team played what was probably their best game of the year in a 29-13 win. Lillian Smith led a balanced scoring attack (8 players scored) with 10 points, followed by Kora Holcomb with 7. The A team played very well at times, but it was not enough for a talented Viking squad in a 41-17 loss. Franny Updike and Trinity Rosser scored 4 points each for the Glads. The B team stand at 4-9 and the A 5-8 on the season.
7th Grade – Eaton Rapids
The girls 7th grade team played together at Eaton Rapids last night. They played very well and won 40-26. The girls played hard defense and unselfish basketball in their win. Jada Bradberry had a free throw in the second quarter, Lillian Thomas and Emma Lamkin each added 4 points, Miya Fillinger and Libby Tennyson had 6 points each, Sydney Feig had 8 points and Sara Spalding led the Gladiators with 11 points. The girls will play in Haslett on Monday night, the games start at 4:30. Good luck ladies.
7th Grade – Williamston
The girls 7th grade teams split with Williamston last night at Williamston. The B team played well but lost 11-25. Jenna Bailey had 2 points, Brynn Bertl had 3 points and Alyssa Luzkow led the Glad scoring with 6 points. The A team won 31-25. Jada Bradberry had 4 points, Sydney Feig had 6 points, Miya Fillinger had 8 points and Sara Spalding led the Gladiator scoring with 13 points. The ladies will play again tomorrow night in Eaton Rapids, the game begins at 5 pm and only one game will be played. Good luck ladies.
7th Grade – Game 8
The girls’ 7th grade basketball team split with DeWitt on Wednesday night playing at home. The B team played one of their better games of the season but lost 22-25. Karla Hacker and Celeste Linares each had 2 points, Morgan Byerle had 8 points and Brynn Bertl led the Gladiator scoring again with 10 points. The A team also played one of their better games of the season winning 31-18. Maliyah Pingle, Emma Lamkin and Sara Spalding each added 2 points, Libby Tennyson had 6 points, Miya Fillinger had 9 points and Sydney Feig led the Glads scoring with 10 points. Both teams continue to work hard and improve each week. They will play again next Wednesday in Williamston games starting at 4:30.
7th Grade – Game 7
The girls lost both games Monday night against the Chieftains of Okemos. The B team lost 13-27. Even though they played hard, the girls fell short. Jenna Rigotti had a free throw in the 4th quarter, Emily Hutmacher and Brynn Bertl each had 2 points, Morgan Byerle and Alyssa Luzkow led the Gladiator scoring with 4 points. The A team lost as well, 25-36. Emma Lamkin had a point, Miya Fillinger added 2 points, Libby Tennyson had 4 points and Sara Spalding, Sydney Feig and Maliyah Pingle all led the Gladiator scoring with 6 points. The girls will play again on Wednesday against DeWitt at home. Good luck girls.
7th Grade-Game 6
On Wednesday night both 7th grade girls team won against Ionia, at home. The B team played very well, winning 23-8. They played good defense and had balanced scoring. Emily Hutmacher scored 1 point, Celeste Linares and Alyssa Luzkow both scored 2 points, Autumn Jones had 6 points and Brynn Bertl led the Gladiator scoring with 12 points. The A team played very well too hanging on to a late lead to win 25-24. Jada Bradberry had 2 points, Miya Fillinger had 5 points, Sara Spalding and Sydney Feig each added 6 points, Libby Tennyson led the glad scoring with 7 points. The girls will play again next Monday, away against Okemos. Good luck ladies.
8th Grade-Game 5
8th grade Girls dropped two games to Eaton Rapids Monday night. The B team lost 31-9. High scorer was Lillian Smith with 6 points. The A team lost 56-27. Leading scorer was Petyon Boden with 14 points and Fran Updike chipped in 5. The girls play Wednesday at Ionia.
8th Grade-Game 4
The 8th grade girls’ basketball team split a pair of games with Owosso last night. The B squad lost 26-14. Sydney Huggins had 9 points and Lillian Smith added 3. The A girls had balanced scoring on their way to a 39-16 victory. Peyton Boden had 11 points and Franny Updike 8 for the Glads. The B team is 1-3 and the A 2-2 on the year.
7th Grade-Game 4
Both 7th grade teams won last night in Owosso. The B team held on for a close win, 14-13. Alyssa Luzkow and Jenna Rigotti each had 2 points, Brynn Bertl and Morgan Byerle each had 5 points to lead the Gladiators to the win. The A team won 18-14, Jada Bradberry and Libby Tennyson each had 2 points, Emma Lamkin and Sydney Feig each added 3 points and Miya Fillinger and Sara Spalding led the Gladiator scoring with 4 points. Great job ladies, they will play again next Wednesday at home against Ionia. The games will begin at 4:30.

The 7th grade girls’ basketball teams both lost to Haslett last night at home. The B team lost 11-33. Karla Hacker and Jenna Rigotti both had 2 points each and Brynn Bertl led the Gladiator scoring with 7 points. The A team lost as well 22-43. Emma Lamkin and Maliyah Pingle each had 2 points, Miya Fillinger added 3 points, Libby Tennyson 4, Sydney Feig 5 points and Sara Spalding led the Gladiators with 6 points. 8th Grade Game 3
The 8th grade girls’ basketball team split a pair of games verse Haslett last night. The B team was led by Lillian Smith with 9 points on their way to a 23-16 victory. Kora Holcomb added 8 points. The A team dropped their contest to a talented Viking squad 49-17. Peyton Boden scored 6 to lead the Glads, who host Owosso on Wednesday.
8th Grade Game 2
The 8th grade girls’ basketball team split a pair of games with Laingsburg last night. The B team played hard, but lost 25-0, dropping their record to 0-2. The A team won a hard fought game 32-26, led by Peyton Boden’s 14 points and Franny Updike’s 7. The A team stands at 1-1 on the season.
8th Grade Game 1
The 8th grade girls’ basketball B team lost to Williamston last night by a score of 48-15. Tara Garbacik, Lilly Smith, and Sydney Huggins each had 4 points for the Glads, while Kora Holcomb chipped in 3. The A team lost 42-4. Peyton Boden hit a 3 and Azhanae Depa added a point for Fowlerville.
7th Grade Game 2
The girls 7th grade basketball team split with Laingsburg last night at home. The B-team lost 9-39 against a strong Laingsburg team. Brynn Bertle had 2 points and Morgan Byerle led the Gladiator scoring with 7 points. The A team defeated Laingsburg 32-16. The ladies played very well both offensively and defensively. Jada Bradberry had 2 points, Maliyah Pingle added 3, Miya Fillinger, Sydney Feig and Emma Lamkin each had 4, Sara Spalding led the Gladiator scoring with 15 points. The girls will play again at home against Haslett on Monday, B game starting at 4:30 and A to follow.
7th Grade Game 1
The girls 7th grade split last night at home against the Hornets of Williamston for their season opener. The B team lost 22-11. Alyssa Luzkow had one point, Morgan Byerle had 4 points and Brynn Bertle lead the Gladiators with 6 points. They played well but were outmatched in the second half. The A team defeated Williamston in a very close game 24-23. Jada Bradberry had a free throw, Sydney Feig and Maliyah Pingle each had 2 points, Libby Tennyson scored 3, Emma Lamkin 4 points, Sara Spalding had 5 points and Miya Fillinger lead the lady glads with 7 points. They played good defense and unselfish offense to hold on to the win over the hornets. They will play again tonight against the Wolfpack of Lainsburg, B team starting at 5pm and the A team to follow. Great job ladies.
