The Fowlerville varsity volleyball competed in their last tournament at home on Saturday. The girls came out first in their pool beating Swartz Creek 25-4, 25-12, 25-11 and beating Lansing Christian 25-13, 25-12, 25-19. They went out to the quarter-finals and won against Garden City 25-20, 25-9. Then they lost in the semi-finals to a good Riverview team 23-25, 20-25. The Glads finished their last tournament 3rd overall with a today record of 3-1.
For the day, senior Leah Ash had 36 kills and 5 blocks playing great offense at the net. Livvie Dufore followed her with 26 kills, 24 points, 5 aces, and 30 digs. Jackie Jarvis added 15 kills, 24 points, and 44 digs and junior Lauren Marquette had 12 points, 4 aces, and 12 kills. Junior Kortney Molten, senior Dalaija Franklin, freshman Emily Homrock, junior Haley Curd, and junior Madi Fredrick also had great key plays at the net.
In the back row, Grace Wallace led the Glads with 61 digs, 26 points, and 9 aces. Senior, Natalie Juopperi had 26 digs, 17 points, and 5 aces. Lizzy Banko added 21 digs and 12 points and Abby Thomas had 23 digs and 6 points. Setting for the Glads was Dani Ryan who 90 assists, 22 points, 5 aces and 25 digs. She did a great job leading the Glads for the day.
This is the end of the regular season for the Glads as they start District play on Tuesday playing at Durand at 7pm. For the season, the Glads overall record is 23-15-4.
