The Fowlerville varsity volleyball team should hold their heads up high for the stellar season that they had. The Glads played with heart, determination, and pride; however, came up short Tuesday night. The Glads played a great Marshall team and lost 16-25, 12-25, 26-28. In the first two games, errors cost the team in many areas. However, they regrouped for the third game and hung in the end never given up.
Setting for the night was senior Dani Ryan with 24 assists, 14 digs, 5 points, and 3 kills. Junior Livvie DuFore led at the net with 10 kills, 4 points and 2 blocks. Senior Jackie Jarvis added 6 kills, 21 digs, and 4 points. Grace Wallce played solid defense with 24 digs and 3 points. Both girls never gave up and played with great tenastity. Natalie Joupperi added 10 digs and 3 points and Freshman Abby Thomas stepped up as the leading scorer with 6 points and 2 aces. Lizzy Banko helped out with 6 digs and some key plays. Also at the net, Leah Ash added 6 kills with help from great net play of Lauren Marquette and Haley Curd. The bench never gave up on their team and cheered the whole game, helping the team stay focused.
The Glads finish their season 25-16-4 overall with a district championship to be proud of.
